Teacher Eligibility Test, known as TET,
is an Indian entrance examination for teachers. The teacher eligibility
test is conducted by both Central government and State governments in
India. The test is conducted in order to improve the standards of
teaching. Conducted by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE),
this exam was first started in 2011. Even the teachers already working
need to clear this test, held by teachers’ recruitment board. State
governments can also consider CTET if it decides not to conduct State
Teacher Eligibility Test.
